John and I had a rocky Saturday, so it was nice to have a relaxed Sunday at the movies. We saw "I Love You Man." There has been a lot of publicity for this film and we were excited to see something funny and mindless, so this was the perfect film.
We left with smiles on out faces and discussed how true the premise of the movie is, making new male friends when you get older can be VERY difficult.
Call it a bromance, man date, dudeship, poker night...if you move around it is hard for guys to make new friends once you hit a certain age - and this movie sheds some bright light on this concept.
Paul Rudd and Jason Segel show real chemistry throughout the film, it seemed so natural and not a "Hollywood sham." Rudd's character is one I will always remember because he plays that cheesy-nerdy guy who has always has something funny to say, but when comes out to Jason Segal's character and to most new people he meets, it comes out not making any sense - making him the awkward guy in the room.

I tend do this at times and believe it's a truly endearing trait only a true friend would love. Basically I'm saying this because it's difficult being the new dork in town and I related to Rudd's character - I give him and the film a BIG thumbs up.
Go see this movie if you feel like enjoying some man/dude humor and want to spend over an hour engrossed in a movie with a good plot line and some really great acting.

Dude, I also saw this movie. I loved it. So funny. I agree, it is hard to make new "man-friends". I'm glad someone spoke up about this problem.
