MAN I LOVE PUMPKIN PIE!

Today the Chicago Tribune reported: "Nestle says poor weather hurt harvest, canned pumpkin for pie may run short for holidays."

My immediate reaction was to run to the grocery store on my way home and stock up on canned pumpkin pie. I don't want to be without one of my favorite dessert this Thanksgiving!

Then the conspiracy side of me thought Nestle reported this news to get people, like me, to rush out and buy their product.

In fact, I do see a lot of manufactured stories like this in the news. Maybe a way for a company to pump up sales on a specific product in an uncertain economy? I think this calls for a 20/20 John Stossel investigative report!

It's a brilliant marketing ploy using simple supply/demand principles. I could use this idea to sell my photography or maybe I will start a delicious pumpkin pie business by buying all of the canned pumpkin pie filling in my neighborhood.

I'll be a millionaire soon enough, I can feel it!

(I really wrote this story so I could use this photo again...I'm so proud of my pie eating contest victories!)

Remember that pumpkin pie eating contest we did? You totally beat me. Messy but fun. Looks like you still have the edge on me :)

This is a photo from that pie eating contest I think, or maybe it was the last one we did...I know we had two pie eating and one jello eating contests and I won them all! The good ole days!
