ON MY WAY TO WORK TODAY...

I saw this great poster this morning along a construction site I have been walking past everyday since I started my job in August. Near the corner of the site is a real "super woman" who is a construction worker/traffic sign holder/pain in the ass/fun girl. I have seen her to and from work since Aug. Sometimes she is totally crazy into her job, other times she is totally crazy about doing absolutely nothing...one day she grabbed my ass and asked if she could have one of the two pizzas I had in my hands. I said, "No this sausage is for my boyfriend," and she said, "How did you know I like sausage." So I said, "Glad to hear we both are into Sausage.

Any way, this awesome poster revealed itself today so at lunch I got my camera and got some great shots. I'm going to miss walking to work everyday. Is that really weird. My last day at work is Jan. 30.

Let's all celebrate the new administration! Enough of the former crook, onto a new clean start and the leadership of my hero, Obama!

CHICAGO GEARS UP FOR A MUCH ANTICIPATED OBAMA VICTORY CELEBRATION

My friends and family in Chicago are all set to see Obama pull out a BIG victory tonight...I am saying my prayers he emerges victorious! I hear ideal weather is in store for the thousands of people going to Grant Park, which is the best location for such a momentous occasion. I have HOPE that tonight will bring much needed CHANGE to our country. VOTE OBAMA!

VOTE FOR OBAMA TOMORROW!

I went from casually understanding politics to being entrenched in everything political during in this election. CNN is on at the gym while I glide through my elliptical machine workouts, on in the cafe while I munch on my chicken salad wraps, I watch clips online during breaks at work and Larry King/Anderson Cooper have become my new friends in the evenings, providing diverse panels of political types who deliver varied opinions on the candidates.

I believe in the promised HOPE for change Obama brings to the table in this election. His health care program is smart, his ideas on fixing the economy have promise, his plan to get us out of a war in Iraq - a war we should never have been in - and concentrating on Afghanistan - finding/killing Osama bin Laden is the right plan, his pick of Joe Biden totally complements him in foreign relations experience, and most of all, he is a smart intelligent man who will serve our country well!

Honestly, I am worried about a John McCain Presidency. This is a man who changed the direction of his campaign every few days, found a true moron in Sarah Palin to be his VP nominee, has lied/bent the truth to Americans about his opponent more times than not, doesn't have an email address because he doesn't understand the Internet, voted 90% of the time with George W. Bush (there is video of him being publicly proud of this fact), wants to keep fighting the war in Iraq, wants to keep giving the wealthiest Americans tax cuts, and will keep up the same politics the Bush camp have used to ruin our country since they took office.

Don't be confused by the myriad of lies being told by the McCain campaign. Look at the facts and the very impressive campaign Barrack Obama has presented the American people. This man will do everything in his power to make it a better country not only here but also abroad. We need CHANGE in this country. We need a man who will lead our country in a positive direction. VOTE OBAMA!

COLIN POWELL TO VOTE FOR OBAMA

Many say this is the biggest endorsement of the campaign. I agree.

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell announced on Meet the Press this morning that he will break with his party and vote for Barack Obama. Colin Powell spoke out on many of the same concerns I have with the McCain-Palin ticket including: Pailn not ready to be President if called on, deeming the connection of Obama and Ayers as ridiculous and basically stating what the Obama ticket has been saying all along, McCain would bring back more of the same GOP garbage we have seen in the last 8 years.

I have to say, after watching Powell today, I had chills of excitement run through me. Powell is brave to stand against his party and make this announcement. I am glad someone is standing up and pointing out how truly ridiculous and appalling the desperate tactics the McCain campaign are making in the final days of the election.

CHICAGO TRIBUNE ENDORSES OBAMA

As reported in the Chicago Tribune:

It's the first time the paper has endorsed the Democratic Party's nominee for president. But the editorial board declares Obama the right man "to lead us through a perilous time and restore in us a common sense of national purpose."

It felt really nice to read this. The historically Republican paper has always been too conservative for my taste. Glad they got it right this time!

MCCAIN'S FUNKY CHICKEN DANCE

This photo (from Reuters) of John McCain at the debate last night is so hilarious! It is even more funny thinking about how mean he came off throughout the debate. He really was acting like a childish old man in a nursing home. He was attacking Obama on almost every remark and most of his attacks were so off base it was comical.

Throughout the evening he acted like someone pissed in his Wheaties. He rolled his eyes, interrupted Obama while he was speaking and had this "I just don't care" how rude I am attitude.

MCCAIN'S MIDDLE CLASS SUPPORTERS ARE CONFUSED

Throughout John McCain's speech tonight he used "Joe Plumber" as the example of a citizen in middle America. I think McCain's "Joe Plumber" supporters are confused. McCain and Palin keep saying they are fighting for "Joe Six-pack" and "Joe Plumber," but what are they actually doing for them?

"Joe, I want to tell you, I'll not only help you buy that business that you worked your whole life for and I'll keep your taxes low and I'll provide available and affordable health care for you and your employees," said McCain. "And I will not stand for a tax increase on small business income."

If you put both of these Presidential candidate's proposals on a table and really looked at them, middle America is clearly being supported by Obama's campaign best. McCain's campaign proposes less taxes for the rich, he still wants to send "Joe America's" kids to a very unpopular war in Iraq, his health care plan does nothing for the middle class, etc. Obama will have tax cuts for 95% of the country - those making less than $250,000.

This is the biggest farce I have seen in a long time - well since Bush was elected for 8 years - IRG. Is middle America that uneducated?

As reported by the Associated Press:

Obama said that under his proposal taxes on any revenue from $250,000 on down would stay the same, but that amounts above that level would be subject to a 39 percent tax, instead of the current 36 percent rate.

"And the reason why we're doing that is because 95 percent of small businesses make less than 250 (thousand). So what I want to do is give them a tax cut. I want to give all these folks who are bus drivers, teachers, auto workers who make less, I want to give them a tax cut," he said.

I believe it may come down to one question. Is middle America ready for a black President? Don't you think if Obama was white he would be blowing away McCain in the polls at this point? I know Obama is leading, justly so, but the lead should be much larger. This is what scares me.

VOTE FOR CHANGE - VOTE FOR OBAMA!

ONE MCCAIN-PALIN SUPPORTER FOUND IN SAN FRANCISCO

There is ONE McCain-Palin supporter in San Francisco and he lives in my building. He is as old as McCain, maybe older, and is really passionate about his candidate.

As you can see from the photo above, he has taken his classic Mercedes Benz and made it his GOP ride, decked out with posters, displaying his love for his Republicans running for office. Every day he parks his ride at a meter across the street from our building (which is across the street from AT&T Park - where the Giants baseball team plays) and is often seen handing out fliers and carrying a big VOTE McCain-Palin sign.

While going to lunch the other day, I saw him driving his car with signs hanging all over the car windows, even one sign being displayed out the sunroof. As I got closer to his car I heard him playing very presidential music as he honked his horn to apparently grab the attention of arguably the most liberal city in America.

Last night after going to the gym, I had my IPOD on and walked past him with a megaphone shouting why everyone in this city is confused and need to listen to the McCain-Palin ticket. I walked past him, finally able to confront the annoying Republican plague in my building and very appropriately gave him two big thumbs down, served him a round of boos and ended with VOTE OBAMA 2008 - this was done VERY loud in his face.

I walked away feeling like I might have been too aggressive. Was I really loud because I just went through a painful abs class at the gym and was in pain? Was it the loud dance music playing in my ears pumping me up to let my opinion known? I will chalk it up to listening to him publicly make his feelings known all week and I felt the need to let him know how I felt. VOTE OBAMA!

CONGRATULATIONS OBAMA!

I'd like the commend Barack Obama for his amazing performance at the first debate last night. I think he exuded great knowledge of foreign policy, stressed his points and articulated them with such amazing ease and from a pure presentation standpoint, he was fantastic!

This morning, CNN reported, "A national poll of people who watched the first presidential debate suggests that Barack Obama came out on top, but there was overwhelming agreement that both Obama and John McCain would be able to handle the job of president if elected."

Hoping Joe Biden does well with his numbskull opponent Sarah Palin - on Thursday, which should be an interesting debate to watch!
