Now that I think of it, my camera is built for right handed people - irg!
Congratulations Eric and Liz - after reading Eric's blog and Liz's comment - I found out that you both have very special left handed children, which excites me because I'm a lefty too!
In grade school we had special scissors that had a green handle on them - the green symbolized how special it was to be a lefty. I remember it was a hunter green color and there were only 3 or 4 other kids in class who used them, as lefties were the definite minority in the classroom.
Wow, I guess I knew what it was like to be a minority at a very young age, maybe that has helped me in dealing with it today!
I have since learned how to use right handed scissors to cut things because when you grow up you simply have to adjust to no more lefty scissors with hunter green handles - you just use what is handed to you and learn how to do things the other way because you are forced to.
My baseball coach taught me how to bat right handed. Now I threw the ball with my left hand so I had a glove for my right hand and for some reason he taught me how to bat right handed. Maybe he was drunk? Maybe he just thought it would be easier for me to learn the only way he knew how to teach me? So I still bat right handed and throw lefty - a very weird combo for a baseball player.
Yes, lefties are very creative and smart people. I believe we are able to take on the most difficult of challenges with ease since we have had endure the trails and tribulations of living in the "right handed establishment" - as Eric so poignantly stated in his blog today - that has been set up for us.
All I want to say is, ROCK ON LEFTIES! And I can't wait to see the creativity come out of the younger lefty generation.
