Why are people who choose to have multiple babies rewarded for their asinine behavior? From Octo-Mom to John and Kate Plus Eight these whack-jobs are making it fashionable to milk money from having planned multiple births.
The following is a list of easy steps a family can take to to be the next John and Kate Plus Eight:
Step 1: Pay to have several embryos implanted in your uterus.
Step 2: Once the doctor tells you that you are having 6-8 children, choose not to selective abort embryos.
Step 3: Go online and find sympathizers who will "help" you in your new predicament before you give birth.
Step 4: Give birth to ALL of the kids.
Step 5: Once you recover, hire a publicist and start your media blitz.
Step 6: After the TV coverage dies down, write a book with cute photos of all of your kids in matching outfits.
Step 7: Sign a contract to star in a family reality show, receive endorsements, enjoy freebies when attending events.
Step 8: Tour the country for paid speaking engagements, pass the basket and ask for "loving donations" from the audience.
Yesterday I read an article about the John and Kate Plus Eight TV show on TLC. These people did the In vitro procedure and like the Octo-Mom, they decided to not abort some of the embryos and has six kids. They immediately started to find money to help pay for their kids - the world fell in love with this family. Now, they milk it for as much as they can. To read the full article, click here. It has been well documented that having this many babies at once often produces children with handicaps like mental retardation, downs syndrome and autism. But in these cases, using these kids for celebrity status is apparently worth the risk - it's a meal ticket and a great way to live life.
If we start talking about how crazy these people are and stop treating them like celebrities, maybe it will deter all of this madness. Perpetuating this behavior via high profile interviews and reality shows is shocking. Stop the multiple baby madness and stop treating these people like stars and start treating them like mental cases!
