A woman gave birth to eight babies in California this week - six boys and two girls. It was reported that she was going through in virtro fertilization and she came out with eight children. She had the option to have all eight or selectively abort some. She chose to have them all.
While the hospital won't released her name, the media has discovered: she already has six other children children; four older boys and two girls - two of those six are twins - for a total of 14 children; she doesn't have a husband or a boyfriend; she is in her late twenties; she still lives at home with her parents in a two bedroom house.
I believe this to be the worst kind of hell anyone could be put through. Maybe this is just my idea of "Hell on Earth" and she is really happy and excited to raise 14 kids, but talk about the amount of sacrifice she is going to go through to raise all of those kids and do it all alone! Would someone please call Ty and get the Extreme Home Makeover show over to this woman's parents house on the double!
I hope her parents are able to help support her; after all, how can one person work full time and support 14 children - feed, clothe, bath, play with them and still find time to pee or read a magazine.
Poor "Fertile Myrtle" is going to raise 14 kids alone before turning 30 - yep, I'm thinking she will at least have a few days when she feels like she is living in hell!

Kev, she is just crazy. She did it to herself. I feel bad for the children and her parents. That was a selfish act. She needs to be evaluated by a shrink.
What doctor would do invitro on a single mother of 6???? This is malpractice!!
The bad news is that she will never support them on her own and we (tax payers) will subsidize their living expenses for the life of those children. My personal opinion is that this is where socialized medicine would be a benefit as they would force her to have her tubes tied or VaJayJay removed.
ha ha ha ha! John, maybe the tubes being tied, but the VaJayJay removal is a little extreme! ha ha ha ha
That is the ultimate in selfishness, and it is child abuse for all 14. Pretty cut and dried.
The positive of this is that now it will give a badtaste in everyone's mouth for doing this type of thing. (not that it would need much help being a bad taste at this point in time, bad economy = low birth rates...that should help...unless of course one is in the field of education like myself...but then I'll be retiring around the time that happens...SO doesn't matter to me. heh) Did I mention selfish somewhere earlier in this post? haha
um, she weren't exactly "fertile myrtle" since the 8 babies were an act of science rather than god. i figured...she HAD to go with 8 kids because any less wouldn't have caught the media's attention. now that the media has bought the rights to her story, she should be actually "set" financially for a while (mentally, maybe not ever).
thus...all of the attention we have "paid" to the media which has "paid" her to do this...has opened an intriguing "cycle of life"/catch 22 part of my brain.
