ONE SENTENCE MOVIE REVIEWS

I have had the opportunity to see almost every film I was looking forward to seeing over Christmas and NYE. Below are my "one sentence" reviews, in order of what I liked the most - honestly I LOVED them all.

1. Slum Dog Millionaire: It kept me guessing through out; I expected a totally different story before I walked in; I found it to be a hugely creative beautifully shot movie with A+ acting. juxtaposed in different eras of the main characters life and in the end - it all was tied up with a sweet bow of celebration.

2. Milk: I loved every second of Sean Penn tackling a subject matter that is near and dear to my heart; it made me tear up in the end and I felt like it did a great job of describing what it was like to be discriminated against by everyone because you were gay.

3. Wrestler: Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood we so compelling in their roles; directed by Darren Aronofsky (who directed Requiem for a Dream - my favorite movie of all time) who shot it all with a hand held camera making it feel like you were watching this realistic reality movie; takes you for this amazing roller coaster ride through the world of wrestling.

4. Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons: A beautiful story that really tickled at my heart string; Brad Pitt is so gorgeous as he aged backwards - Cate Blanchett is her usual PERFECT self.

5. Reader: Kate Winslet playing a rough German Nazi woman who has an affair with a really hot German boy - it was perfectly artsy, kept me interested throughout!

6. Revolutionary Road: Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet struggle with their relationship in the 1960 period piece; if you like Mad Men the TV show you will love this film; if you liked Kate Winslet - you will love her in this film - she's an amazing talent.
