WHEN I FIRST KISSED A GIRL...I REALLY DIDN'T LIKE IT

Since I have been reminiscing this week, I thought I would share the very uncomfortable experience of my first French kiss with a girl. It was in junior high in Colin Babcock's basement.

We were playing spin the bottle and I got paired with Christina Heine (pronounced hine-ee). She had tight curly red hair (it may have been permed), was as skinny as a rail, braces on her teeth, wore a black mini skirt and a white dress shirt. It was a tie party, so all the guys borrowed one of their dads ties and wore it.

Christina and I went into Colin's closet to start our French kiss. I was really nervous, my heart was pounding in excitement, knowing I was gong to feel something spectacular, a life changing moment...MY FIRST REAL KISS!

My tongue ran across her sharp braces and then a lot of her tongue fell into my mouth. I felt like she was trying to touch the back of my throat with her tongue. I was pretty disgusted with the aggressiveness of her approach, I guess I thought she would let me lead but that just wasn't the case with this pushy girl. I think it ended with her pushing me away saying, ok that's enough - like I was really enjoying it and wanted more!

No shocker here people, absolutely no sparks resulted from this smooch. I ended up with a cut in my mouth, those darn braces tore the interior of my lip. It really was the worst possible first kiss. I then proceeded to avoid kissing girls and began to realize maybe I wasn't into girls after all. But continued to give it that college try for a number of years after.

Above is a picture from the party...at least I think it was the party, Christina must have come late because she wasn't in the photo. Man we all look so young in this picture!
